How We Paid Cash For Our First Home

Crystal Paine from the blog, Money Saving Mom wrote an amazing article on how her and the husband paid cash for their home. Yes you heard the words correctly, they paid cash for their home. This is something that is really unheard of in the United States because what  usually happens is we go to bank right after college and marriage and buy the biggest home for the loan we can get. We instantly become house poor which  means we are struggling to pay for the mortgage along with our other bills. A home shouldn’t be a burden in our lives financially and if it is, we have done something wrong.

In Nicaragua a guy told me a joke once and it has stuck with me until today. “What do you call a person with a mortgage”? A  American. Nicaragua is the poorest country in Central America and yet 75% of the people there have no mortgage. But the reason for this is that they buy a few bricks every paycheck they get. Once they get enough bricks they build a home. Why do we do it backwards in the USA? Patience was suppose to be a good virtue right?

Now let me break down some of the article. Crystal Paine and her husband started off with a solid goal. They said if they continue to live simple and frugal and brought home income from side jobs. In five years, they would have enough money to purchase a starter home.

They wanted a home around the price of $100,000 to $110,000, so they divided the price by 60, which represented 60 months. Since they wanted to pay for the home in five years, they had to save $1700 a month to reach the goal.

From listening to Dave Ramsey show I have learned, that when people make goals and stick to them, they usually accomplish their goals faster than they expected. This definitely was the case with Crystal and her husband. They accomplished their goal in half the time.

Enough of me rambling please read this amazing article and please comment below. Let me know what you think.

How To Never Work Another Day In Your Life, The Money System Portfolio

For those who of you who have watched my youtube channel. You may have heard me speak of MJ Demarco and his book ” The Millionaire Fast Lane”. Now MJ Demarco has now written a powerful article called  ” How To Never Work Another Day In Your Life, The Money System Portfolio”.

In this article MJ puts much focus on Passive Income- which is making money, without you necessarily being present. Would that be nice? You can travel whenever you want, do what ever you want and money is being made without you being there. He talks about some interesting points that Robert Kiyasaki teaches and it looks like he is not a fan, but I will let you decide.

I have to admit I was a big fan of Kiyasaki and still to this day follow some of his principles. But I have heard of a lot of people having their lives destroyed following his plan. I just am not a fan of borrowing money to make my dreams come true. You can call me old-fashioned but I like the feeling of paying in cash and not having to worry about paying someone back.

MJ speaks about the life of never having to work again a day in your life. Who wouldn’t want a lifestyle like this. Traveling the world when you want, never having to stress about money. That sounds like a wonderful plan. So sit back and enjoy the powerful article my MJ Demarco.

The Art Of Consistentcy

The Art of Consistency

This is the Webster’s Dictionary definition of consistency-constantly adhering to the same principles, course, form,etc.: a consistent opponent.Consistency is the 9th wonder of the world, when it comes to success.  I would have to say my wife is the best physical representation of consistency, that I have seen in a long while. She doesn’t talk much when she works, and she has the same set of tasks that she has done religiously for years. She eats her breakfast at 9:00 a.m, after working out, takes here shower, and starts placing the clothes on the mannequin, adjust the light and starts to take pictures. After the pictures are taken , she starts listing her items, and answers questions from Etsy customers. If you ask her today, why do you have so much success on Etsy she would say, I can attribute that to consistency.

Here  is a nice post I found on I found on Consistency from Kristine Chapman to drive home the point, Consistency.  In the post she speaks of three great tips to help with the subject of consistency

3 Simple Tips For Consistency

1. Use a calendar and stick to it

2. Organize your day the night beforei

3. Partner up and have someone hold you accountable

Organizing your day the night before  is something I can be guilty of not doing sometimes, but I try to do this  on a regular basis. I can totally admit that if you don’t write your goals down the night before, your next day can be very cloudy. My day can be so disorganized and unproductive if I don’t have a exact plan, so know if I have some downtime while I am watching a late T.V. show after all my work is done, I will write down some tasks on paper, which will only take about five to ten minutes. But that small time can make your whole day very productive.

Here is the Last tip I will give you to help you with being consistent.  Are you ready???? Be Consistent in what ever that will make you successful, “EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.  Some people have a great Monday, an ok Tuesday, unproductive Wednesday, do you get the picture. It only works if you do it everyday. So takes these tips guys and gals and apply them to your life today.Go out there and be Consistent!!!
