Robin Sharma’s 50 New Rules To Work

Robin has done it again with his amazing article 50 New Rules to work. I just want to touch on 5 of the rules that really stuck out for me.

How many of you can actually say today that you are practicing to become better at your craft eacih day? I definitely need some improvement as I sit here and write this post now, so I will definitely apply these rules to my life. Robin Sharma says in one of his rules

“Be a Master of Your Craft. And practice + practice + practice.”

I honestly believe that there are some who are born with talent, but for the most part even then practice is still needed. They say it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert, if that is true, how many hour have you put into your craft?

Let’s move onto the next great point from Robin Sharma states

“Brilliant things happen when you go the extra mile for every single customer.”

I think it’s easy to focus on making money off of your product or service and forget about the customer. But caring about your customer and giving them the ultimate experience, is what really counts. Then your customer may spread a “Great Word” about your business, and that’s the best form of advertisement “Word Of Mouth”.

Get Fit Like Madonna

Madonna is in her fifty’s and is better in shape than she was when she was younger. People don’t really understand how important fitness is today. How are you going to spend those millions if you are to unhealthy to spend it. I work out every morning five days a week M-F, for at least a hour and a half. So if I can do it, so can you, so get off that couch and get your but in the gym. “Get Fit Like Madonna.”

 “You Become Your Excuses”

Don’t you hate it when people will not take the blame for their mistakes? Instiead of facing the problem head on, they would rather blame it on someone else. All I have toi say to those people is “Shut Up”. Nobody wants to hear your excuses, and you will not change. Get out there, stop whining and reach for the stars.

”Every visionary was initially called crazy.”

I am a victim of this phrase. People can’t see what I see when I have a new idea. Some people don’t have the courage to make a new idea come to life. They take the easier route and usually that’s putting you down, so you will not have the courage to pursue your dream. I have found out in life the more crazy you are the more successful you are. So try to be as crazy as possible and get out their and make those dreams come true. Don’t let your dreams attract spider webs. Your idea only works if you execute.
